Croatian Films Continue To Prove Popular At Local Box Office


Croatian films are continuing to prove popular at the box office in Croatia, according to statistics released from the Croatian Audiovisual Centre.

A strong start to 2013 has seen admissions to local Croatian films continue to rise, a trend which started last year and saw admissions triple from the previous year thanks to hit films such as Sonja and the Bull, The Mysterious Boy, Priest’s Children. Vinko Bresan’s Priest’s Children, which set an opening record in Croatia. has earned 589,614 EUR since 3 January 2013 with 158,130 admissions this year.

The Mysterious Boy, which is a sequel to the hit Koko and the Ghosts, has sold 68,196 tickets since opening on 28 February 2013, whilst Vlatka Vorkapic’s Sonja and the Bull has sold 41,457 tickets already in 2013, and a total of 97,487 since it opened in mid-December last year.
