‘Croatian Classics: 100 savoury dishes to delight your family and friends’, a cookbook by Andrea Pisac, was launched at the Embassy of Croatia in London, UK, on 7th December.

Igor Pokaz, the Ambassador of Croatia to the United Kingdom, welcomed the speakers, Prof. Wendy Bracewell and Andrea Pisac, and the guests. Prof. Bracewell, who specializes in Croatian history and who was one of the main contributors to the Uskoks TV series, introduced the book and the author, who was also her MA student.

She said Andrea’s cookbook provides a creative way of codifying Croatian dishes, makes a great insight into the Croatian cultures of eating, but also teaches the reader to successfully cook a proper Croatian meal.

In the lively discussion that followed, Andrea offered ideas about what the most authentic Croatian dishes might be and how to substitute Croatian ingredients abroad.
