Croatian Football Federation (HNS) president Davor Šuker has welcomed a Chinese Football Federation (CFA) delegation in Zagreb on Monday.
The meeting between the Croatian and Chinese football delegations, as well as a representative from the Chinese Ministry of Sport, took place at the HNS headquarters in Zagreb.
At the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation between the two federations was signed.
The signed Memorandum of Cooperation sets the basic guidelines for future co-operation between the two federations, including the exchange of coaches and players, mutual friendly matches and tours by various national selections as well as a whole series of other activities.
The Chinese delegation was impressed by the success of the Croatian national football team at recent World Cup in Russia and the overall results of the HNS and expressed a strong desire for long-term cooperation on a professional level, HNS reported.
The CFA wants to establish as close as possible relations with HNS in order to gain the necessary experience and knowledge and learn from a highly successful federation, respecting the fact that Croatia is a very small country and so successful compared to China.
Along with Šuker, the HNS delegation included Director of the Board Damir Vrbanović, Director of Competition and Infrastructure Marijan Kustić, Secretary Vladimir Iveta, Head of the International Department and Licensing Ivančica Sudac and Chief Instructor Sreten Ćuk.
Along with the Chinese Deputy Sports Minister and CFA Secretary Du Zhaocai, the visiting delegation included Wang Zhan He, deputy secretary of competition at the Ministry of Sport, deputy secretary of the CFA and director of youth Jian Fei, director of the national team Zhang Chao and deputy chief manager of Beijing Rehne F.C. Zhang Yue.
