Croatia wins silver medals at canoeing world champs 

Success for Croatia  

1 August 2019 – There has been success for Croatia at the 2019 ICF Junior & U23 Wildwater Canoeing World Championships which were held on Vrbas in Banja Luka. 

Ivan Tolic won the silver medal in the Men’s U23 Canoe Sprint Finals, finishing in a time of 59.21, just .28 seconds behind the winner Mattia Quintarelli from Italy. Fellow Croatian Luka Obadic finished 6th in the same final. 

The other silver medal for Croatia came in the Men’s U23 Canoe Double Sprint Finals with Luka Obadic and Ivan Tolic finishing second just .14 seconds behind the gold medal winners Sauteur/Ydoux from France.

In other races, Katija Bengeri and Alba Zoe Gržin finished 4th in the Women’s U23 Canoe Double Sprint Finals. Gržin also finished 5th in the sprint final.
