Croatia Win 1st International Choir Competition In Spain


There has been huge success for the Croatian choir group Brodosplit at the 1st International Choir Competition held in Spain. Brodosplit, under the baton of maestro Vlado Sunka, have taken out the overall gold medal for the best men’s choir.

More than 2,600 singers from 80 choirs from 36 countries competed at the event. Most European nations were represented at the competition, so to were nations such as China, Japan, Indonesia, Brazil, USA, Paraguay and many more. Croatia had two other choirs at the competition, Concordia discors from Zagreb, who won gold in the folklore category and Chorus Carolostadien from Karlovac, who won silver in the folklore and popular categories.

At the start of the competition, the overall winners Brodosplit sung songs with themes about Dalmatia and Croatia, reported Slobodna Dalmacija.
