Croatia reaches final of UEFA U-19 Futsal EURO

RIGA, 12 September 2019 – Croatia has reached the final of the UEFA Under-19 Futsal Championship in Latvia with a dramatic semi-final victory over Portugal today. 

Croatia, led by coach Marinko Mavrovic, beat Portugal in a dramatic penalty shoot-out after both sides were level at the end of the match and extra-time. 

Portugal would take the lead in the match in the 31st minute though Celio before Jurlina levelled the match just seconds before the end of the match to send it into extra-time. Portugal would take the lead once again in extra-time through Chuva, before Croatia would equalise two minutes before the end thanks to a great goal from Vukelic. 

The match would then go to penalties and Croatia’s keeper Čizmić would save Portugal’s third attempt. Jurlina then stepped up and slotted home to send Croatia into the final. 

Croatia reached the semi-final with wins against the Netherlands, and Ukraine. The final will be played on Saturday, 14 September at 8 pm.
