3 June 2019 – According to statistical data on the behaviour and visits of TripAdvisor users, one of the world’s largest specialised travel platforms, Croatia is at the top of the list of countries with the highest growth in search and popularity in the first four months of this year.
Search and popularity of Croatia on TripAdvisor has risen by 27 percent this year. Two Croatian cities were also at the top of the list for the highest growth in search and popularity in the category for cities. Dubrovnik was number one with 46% popularity growth and Split, with popularity growth of 41%, was second on the list.
“These are excellent indicators for Croatian tourism as we know that in April, for example, more than 280 million world travellers sought key tourist information through TripAdvisor,” commented Director of the Croatian Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić.
Behind Croatia in second place for growth in search and popularity was Slovenia which has seen a 22 percent rise. Montenegro had an 18 percent increase, Greexe 12 percent and Cyprus 11 percent, the Croatian Tourist Board said.
When it came to cities, behind Dubrovnik and Split were Salou in Spain with 39 percent increase, Ayia Napa in Cyprus and Marmaris in Turkey with growth of 31% and 29 percent respectively.
TripAdvisor is available on 49 markets around the world in 28 languages. Its platforms include over 760 million comments and reviews of travellers and tourists and more than eight million accommodation facilities, restaurants, experiences, airline tickets and more.
