New Australian-owned and designed brand PLIVATI, meaning ‘swim’ in Croatian, has launched, featuring modest yet chic, high- quality resort-style swimwear for women and men
5 August, 2019 – Australia: A new Australian owned and designed swimwear brand has hit the market this month. The range, inspired by Croatia and the Mediterranean, is ethically made using high-quality fabrics. The range has already been attracting strong international buzz pre-launch on social media in Europe and Australia, and will ship worldwide.
PLIVATI’s Founder, Ms Julianne Bobanovic, grew up on the Gold Coast in Australia and has always had a love of the beach and swimwear. A former fashion model and mum of two young boys, with years of corporate experience behind her, Ms Bobanovic said she designed the range for a sophisticated, contemporary audience looking for great quality and coverage.
“PLIVATI is designed to be modest yet fun with its Mediterranean-inspired prints, and the resort-style swimwear can be worn from the pool to the dining table. My husband’s heritage is Croatian and the playful fabrics remind me of our holiday adventures in Europe together.
“It’s the perfect travel-inspired swimwear for men and women to wear whether on holiday or at home, by the beach or poolside, and is handcrafted to look good as well as to last.
“The high-quality fabrics are fully lined, ultra-chlorine resistant and UP50+ in the women’s swimwear range, and are built to hold shape and retention – making the range perfect for swimming,” said Ms Bobanovic.
All swimwear is delivered in a reusable ziplock-branded wet bag in compostable HEROPACK mailers, designed to reduce any impact on the environment.
The true-to-size PLIVATI women’s range is available in sizes 8-16 and features interchangeable swimwear – wearable with different waist bands or halter ties. Waist bands can double up as hair ties, while the chiffon sarongs can also be worn as scarfs. Prices start from AUD39.95 for the women’s chiffon sarong and AUD59.95 for women’s separates, up to AUD169.95 for one-piece swimwear.
Men’s PLIVATI swim shorts, available in sizes S-XXL, are made from high-quality polyester and have a soft feel. They feature two side pockets with mesh lining and drawstring, elasticised waist bands.
Ms Bobanovic said, “The men’s range doesn’t have a mesh underwear insert as some other board shorts do, so they can be worn to resort bars or as beach shorts comfortably over underwear.”
The men’s swim shorts have all been named using Croatian words – MASLINA (olives), SOL (salt – for anchovies) and SMOKVE (figs), and feature fun food-inspired prints. The men’s swim shorts are priced at AUD64.95.
Two dollars from every swimwear sale will be donated to Miracle Babies Foundation – Australia’s leading organisation supporting premature and sick newborns, their families and the hospitals that care for them.
PLIVATI launched online in early August 2019.
