Croatia hosts region’s biggest tourism fair ‘Place2Go’

Over 200 exhibitors from Croatia and 20 countries around the world gathered in Zagreb for the Place2Go international fair, the biggest in the region.  

The tourist season is knocking on the door and cities in Croatia are slowly filling up with tourist groups. Soon towns will be crowded as a sea, foreigners driven with desire to see, taste and feel the best of this nation will arrive in Croatia. Now is the ideal time for everybody who is in the tourist industry to present their services and attract new clients. One of the biggest tourist fair shows in the region took place last week in Zagreb. 

Place2Go is well known event. Every year there is a partner nation that is presented at the show, this year that title went for Macedonia. A beautiful sunny state that is attracting more and more tourists every year, a land of ajvar relish, wine, great music, culture and so many other things. On the last day of the show, which was visited by Croatia’s Minister of Tourism Gari Capelli, visitors could enjoy also an Indian dance performance. 

We visited Place2Go and really enjoyed the programme. Exhibitors this year included; Sixt rent-a-car, Mega tekstil, Stanić, Mondo travel, Postojnska jama, Lidija Excursions, Proaktiv sport, T.A. Šilopturist, Naj tura, Bic Ljubljana, Zavod Parnas, Grm Novo Mesto, Park prirode Žumberak-Samoborsko gorje, Udruga Trbuhovica, TZO Vrsar , Zagorska razvojna agencija, Braniteljska zadruga Aljmašfructus, Austrijsko veleposlanstvo-Trgovinski odjel, Aplenhaus Management, Familypark  M. Mueller, Graz tourismus und stadtmarketing, Mondial GMBH & CO.KG, Naturhistorisches Museum Vienna, Tourismus region Klagenfurt Am Wooerthersee, TSG Tourismus Salzburg, Embassy of Belgium- Commercial Section, Sava turizem, M.T. Marketing, Turistička organizacija Bela Krajina, Perfect Smile.

There were also high schools present at this event; I.ekonomska škola, Prehrambeno –tehnmološka škola, Tehnička škola Zagreb, Gimnazija Lucijana Vranjanina, VII.gimnazija Zagreb.

Representatives of “partner state” Macedonia on this show were:  The Agency for promotion and support of tourism of Republic of North Macedonia, Macedonia Holidays DMC, Enjoy Balkans Tour Operator, Park Hotel and Spa Skopje, Unique resort & spa Ohrid, Hotel Montana Palace Krusevo, Popova Kula Winery, Hotel Mercure Tetovo, Ohrid Pearl filevi. Macedonia was represented with title “Macedonia-your next destination”.

This was great opportunity to meet new people, also connect with new business partners, see what is new on tourist market for the 2019 season.
