Croatia basketball coach Velimir Perasović says his time is up after his team were knocked out of Eurobasket 2015 on Sunday…

Croatia went down 80-59 to the Czech Republic in the round of 16 on Sunday in Lille to bow out of the competition.

“All we can do is apologise to the fans after that performance. With regards to me, my mandate is over. I take full responsibility. It is time to give someone else a chance as I have not achieved a good result here,” said Perasović after the loss.

“It was the worst possible match for us. Especially in the second half,” he added.

There was further disappointment for Croatia as the loss means that the side can not qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

“We have young individuals who are coming through, but so do other teams. Every national side has that kind of individual quality, so maybe we are not as good as we thought we were. But, we have to be optimistic about the future, we have potential. I know that is hard to hear at the moment,” Perasović concluded.
