Croatia Choose Resort for World Cup Base

After a short search the Croatian football federation has selected its base for next summer’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil…

Niko Kovač and his men will be based at Tivoli Ecoresort in Praia do Forte, which is around 80km north of the city of Salvador on the Atlantic coast in northern Brazil.

“Tivoli Ecoresort is our training camp in Brazil. Our national coach Niko Kovac is satisfied with this choice. It is a superb camp, one of the best on offer in Brazil,” Croatian FA spokesmen Tomislav Pacak told media servis, before adding.

“Our coach had two conditions for selecting our base in Brazil. We wanted a place which is not too far from the venues where we play at. Also we wanted to avoid huge climate differences while travelling,” said Pacak, who has recently returned from Brazil with the Croatian FA delegation.

Croatia will open the tournament against Brazil in Sao Paulo on 12 June, followed by matches against Cameroon (18.6) in Manaus and Mexico (23.6) in Recife.
