Croatia WeekCroatia will be hoping to bring home gold from the European Handball Championships which gets underway today for Slavko Goluza’s side..

Croatia, who have been in the semi-finals of the event five-times, and in the final twice, have yet to win a European Championship gold. The two-time Olympic gold medalists will begin their campaign tonight in Denmark against Belarus and their former coach believes Croatia can go all the way.

“There are more referees from the Balkans, not so many Scandinavians at this tournament, so they could have some fair refereeing. The guys can make the final..then anything is possible,” said former coach Lino Červar.
