ZAGREB, 25 February (Hina) – As of 1 March all hospitality facilities can reopen their terraces and indoor sports training will be allowed too, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković announced on Thursday.

Opening a cabinet meeting, Plenković said that based on all indicators, the epidemiological situation was better but demanded great caution.

“In order to continue to be responsible with regard to protecting citizens against the coronavirus epidemic, following a series of consultations with several portfolios, the intention is that as of 1 March hospitality facilities will be allowed to work, in addition to the other measures that have already been relaxed, by opening their terraces and outdoor facilities,” said Plenković.

It will also be possible to conduct indoor sports training with specific conditions regarding contact and team sports.

The government considers this to be good considering the circumstances, with compliance with epidemiological measures, and the national COVID-19 response team will speak about that in more detail at its press conference tomorrow.

Plenković announced that appropriate monitoring of the economy and entrepreneurs would continue as will dialogue regarding jobkeeping efforts.

The prime minister considers that this measure is appropriate to the circumstances but if the situation deteriorates, measures can be tightened again.
