Croatia, and in particular the northern coastal region of Istria, has been named among National Geographic Traveller’s Top 10 Valentine’s Day Retreat destinations…
Described by the popular international travel publication as the ‘Croatian Tuscany’,interwoven with hills, valleys, fields, vineyards and olive groves. Istria is recommended as the perfect place to go for couples wanting a romantic retreat. National Geographic Traveller propose that Istria is best viewed from an air balloon.
Post Ranch Inn in California was first place on the list, with HaLong Bay in Vientnam in 10th spot. Other European spots on the list besides Istria were Paris’ Eiffel Tower (6th), Lover’s Walk in Cinque Terre in Italy (7th), a ride on a British Pullman train (4th) and Hotel Kakslauttanen, in Saariselka in Finland (5th).
