Busy February And Easter Puts Croatia On Track For Record-Breaking Tourist Season

With more than 10,000 tourist in the Kvarner region of Croatia alone for the Easter break, and a record February, the early signs are good ones for the 2013 tourist season to break new records in Croatia.

In February 2013 there were 15.2% more tourists in Croatia than there was in the same period last year, with 9.5% more overnight stays, according to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics.

For the first 2 months of the year the number of tourists to enter Croatia has risen 2.5% since the first 2 months of 2012, which turned out to be a record-breaking season.

There 17% more domestic tourists in February this year compared to 2012. Slovenes made up the largest group of foreign tourists in Croatia in February, followed by Italians and Austrians.
