Businesses in Zagreb, Porec and Rijeka top list in terms of consolidated net profit

ZAGREB, Sept 11 (Hina) – Businesses in the cities of Zagreb, Porec and Rijeka generated the highest consolidated net profits in 2019, show the data provided by the Financial Agency (Fina).

Broken by the city, the top ten cities with the most successful businesses in terms of the net consolidated profit in 2019 were Zagreb with the highest amount, HRK 18.5 billion, Porec (706.1 million) and Rijeka (641.8 million), and the remaining seven best cities that make the list are Sveta Nedelja, Dubrovnik, Velika Gorica, Vukovar, Zadar, Varazdin and Rovinj.

After they were in this top 10 ranking in 2018, Split, Karlovac and Nasice moved down the ladder, whereas Sveta Nedelja, Zadar and Varazdin were the new entries in the 2019 ranking.

Last year, the consolidated net profit of businesses in the top ten cities amounted to HRK 23.5 billion, and the Croatian businesses throughout the country generated a total consolidated net profit of HRK 31.3 billion in 2019.

Zagreb’s 45,608 businesses with 372,776 employees made up 59% of the total consolidated net profit of all the businesses in Croatia in 2019.

There were 63,598 businesses in the cities that make the top ten ranking, and they employed 498,387 workers last year.
