Biggest Truffle & Best Teran Wine Judged at TeTa Festival in Motovun

The 8th TeTa Motovun – Teran and Truffle Festival, which took place this weekend in the hilltop Istrian town of Motovun, was another huge success.

The festival is an exhibition and public tasting of the Teran wine, where the best wine of this type is produced in the surroundings of Motovun.

This year the public judged the best Teran wine with Novak winery from Motovun named the best this year. Teran from top wineries in the area like Trapan, Bertoša, Fakin, Franc Arman, Benvenuti, Tomaz, Coslovich, Lunika and Zigante were also on display.

TeTa Motovun also exhibits truffles and other local delicacies. A traditional part of the festival is the ‘Veli Jože’ award for the biggest truffle.

The biggest truffle this year, which weighed 289 grams and is valued at 2,200 euros, came from Marko Puh from Natura Tartufi.
