Best Croatian paralympic athletes in 2022 named

ZAGREB, 31 Jan (Hina) – The Croatian Paralympic Committee (HPO) declared table tennis player Anđela Mužinić Vincetić the best female para-athlete and swimmer Dino Sinovčić the best male para-athlete in Croatia in 2022 at an award-giving ceremony in Zagreb on Monday.

In 2022, Croatian para-athletes took part in 82 international contests in 19 sports. They attended 14 world championships, eight European championships, 11 world cups and a European cup, winning a total of 269 medals: 98 golds, 76 silvers and 95 bronzes.

Muћinić Vincetić won a silver in Category 3 at the World Para Table Tennis Championships in Granada, Spain, while Sinovčić became a world champion in the men’s 100 m backstroke in the S6 category in Funchal, Portugal.

The best team was the national para sport-fishing team consisting of Zlatko Poparić, Željko Kljaić, Ivica Bonino Hasan, Mensur Rošić and Nikola Geček, who won a gold at the world championships in Szeged, Hungary.

The most successful young para-athletes in 2022 were Massimo Iveta (para-athletics), Ana Marija Kovač (para-swimming), Stipe Barić (para-karate) and Rudi Antolić (para-arm wrestling).
