Ante Rebić no.1 on fastest players in the Bundesliga list

23 April 2019 – The official website of Germany’s Bundesliga has analysed the top ten fastest players in the league with Croatian international Ante Rebić taking the number one spot. 

The 25-year-old set a league record for reaching the fastest speed during Eintracht Frankfurt’s match against Borussia Dortmund when he was clocked at 21.81 mph. 

“Not only the fastest man in the Bundesliga, Rebić has been blazing a trail past opposition defences with purpose, scoring nine goals and four assists in the Bundesliga and helping Eintracht Frankfurt to the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League,” Bundesliga.com writes.  

In number two spot on the list was Achraf Hakimi, who was on loan at Borussia Dortmund from Real Madrid when he was clocked also at 21.81 mph.

Rebić was the third fastest player at the 2018 World Cup when he was clocked at 20.70 mph against Nigeria in the opening match. Cristiano Ronaldo was clocked the fastest at 21.11 mph. 

Rebić started his senior career at RNK Split before joining Italian club Fiorentina in 2013 . He has spent most of his time on loan and joined Eintracht Frankfurt permanently in July 2018 and has scored 7 goals and 15 assists since the permanent move. 

He made his Croatia debut in 2013 and has played 26 games for his country, scoring two goals, including the opener in Croatia’s 3-0 win over Argentina at the 2018 World Cup.
