A Small Market With Big Flavours

There is an attic space in the middle of Zagreb very near Kaptol. But it is no ordinary attic. Twice a month it transforms itself into a little market.  Local producers bring a wide selection of interesting produce into a small space and transform the attic into a food paradise.

There are homemade spreads, Croatian hot chilli sauces, donkey milk, dairy produce from a family run farm, olive oils and wines, cakes and biscuits, and so much more.  The host Jelena Iva Nikolic, a food blogger and writer from Zagreb cooks little treats. Everybody seems to have a drink in their hand and some people are just soaking the sun and food on the terrace. Its small, but has this amazing vintage homemade genuine feel to it. It is a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon in Zagreb. The next market is on Saturday May11th from 11 o’clock located at number 8 Sinkoviceva street. It is well worth the visit, if you like food and a laid back atmosphere.

You can also check out Jelena’s blog for more information on the market or just to browse her many interesting recipes.
