Information for passengers arriving in Croatia

ZAGREB, 13 March 2020 – Croatia Airlines has published new information on its official website regarding passengers arriving in Croatia amid the COVID-19 outbreak. 

The latest information for passengers entering the Republic of Croatia

All foreign nationals entering the Republic of Croatia having visited the following countries/territories in the previous 14 days:

1. Italy, Islamic Republic of Iran, People’s Republic of China (Hubei province), Republic of Korea (Daegu city and Cheongdo province), Germany (Heinsberg county in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia)

Will be subject to compulsory 14-day quarantine at their own expense.

All foreign nationals entering the Republic of Croatia having visited the following countries/territories in the previous 14 days:

2. France, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Germany (except area listed above), Austria, Great Britain, Netherlands, People’s Republic of China (except area listed above), Republic of Korea (except area listed above), Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Bahrein and Slovenia (area Bela Krajina) 

Will be subject to compulsory 14-day self-imposed isolation. Foreign nationals that do not have residence in the Republic of Croatia must have evidence of booked accommodation.

All Croatian citizens entering the Republic of Croatia having visited countries/areas listed in 1) and 2) will be subject to compulsory 14-day self-imposed isolation/quarantine.

Croatia Airlines has suspended operations on the route Zagreb – Rome – Zagreb up until April 4th 2020.

Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic announced on Friday that all classes in primary and secondary schools and at universities in Croatia will be suspended for two weeks.

“Kids which parents are unable to look after will be able to turn up at school, but there will be no lessons,” the PM said. 

The same rule will apply to kindergartens around the country but the decisions will be made at a local level.  For a number of school students, lessons will continue online. 

As of Friday morning in Croatia, there were a total of 31 people who had tested positive for COVID-19, whilst 525 patients were waiting for test results to come back. 

The confirmed cases so far were reported in the cities of Zagreb, Pula, Umag, Poreč, Rijeka, Varazdin and Sisak. 

“We have no signs of local transmission of the virus, which is a good sign at the moment. We are monitoring the situation from hour to hour and we are ready to react with new measures if it gets worse,” said Minister of Health Vili Beros.
