Ultimate vintage car weekend at Zagreb’s Family Mall

On December 20 and 21, Family Mall in Zagreb becomes the home of all vintage car enthusiasts and model car collectors.

The United Modelers Association will offer a wide range of exciting activities.

More than 300 model cars and 25 vintage vehicles, including the oldest exhibit – the iconic 1950 Cadillac Series 62 – as well as a police car exhibition, are sure to capture visitors’ attention.

The exhibition is open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Exhibitors are coming from Croatia, Italy, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, and Austria.

The organizer especially highlights several milestone anniversaries of automotive icons: 70 years of the Citroën DS and the Fiat 500 (Fićo), 90 years of Jaguar, 115 years of Alfa Romeo, and 70 years of the charming Isetta.

All anniversaries will be presented through real vehicles and scale models, accompanied by interesting historical stories. A special corner will feature movie stars – models from Back to the Future and a replica of the BMW Z3 from the James Bond hit GoldenEye.

There is also plenty of activities for the youngest visitors. In addition to model car races, there will be demonstration workshops for building plastic scale models, RC races, and an attractive children’s play area.

Model cars can be bought or exchanged at the flea market within the exhibition, while Igrandia on the first floor of Family Mall will offer a rich holiday toy sale.

Santa Claus, in great spirits, arrives from distant Lapland to spend time with the children and prepared a few surprises, while adults can look forward to a wheel-changing speed competition.

A special visual experience is brought by the exhibition of Lucia Vidotto, a multiple award-winning photographer and journalist from Rijeka, who has combined his two passions – model cars and photography – into a striking synergy reminiscent of movie scenes, using smoke, dust, and distinctive lighting effects.

A weekend of great fun, pre-holiday family moments, and enjoyment of an outstanding exhibition of collectible model cars and classic automobiles from bygone times awaits you at Family Mall, Škorpikova 11b – the pavilion at the eastern entrance.
