The 12th annual Review of Traditional Dress and Selection of the Most Beautiful Croatian Woman in Folk Costume Outside the Republic of Croatia will take place from 30 June to 6 July 2025 in Biograd na Moru and Tomislavgrad, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The event is organised by Stećak, the Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Croatian Traditional Culture in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Croatian Heritage Foundation, in cooperation with the City of Tomislavgrad, the Tomislavgrad Cultural and Information Centre and the town of Biograd na Moru.
This unique cultural event brings together 15 young Croatian women from emigrant communities across the globe, showcasing traditional costumes and celebrating the rich heritage of the Croatian people.
The aim is to foster unity and strengthen cultural identity among Croats living abroad, while also offering support to Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The programme begins on 30 June in Biograd na Moru, with a highlight on 2 July when the Summer Stage will host a spectacular display of traditional attire. Spectators can enjoy a colourful parade featuring representatives from Croatian communities across several continents.
Celebrations then move to Tomislavgrad, which will have added significance this year as it marks the 1100th anniversary of the Croatian Kingdom.
On 5 July, the main event will be held at Trg gange i hajdučke družine starting at 20:00, where the final selection of the most beautiful Croatian woman in traditional dress from outside Croatia will take place.
Ahead of the final, the public can also take part by voting online for the most photogenic participant. Voting is open until 5 July at https://m.shortstack.page/mbvnrQ.
Over the years, this pageant has welcomed Croatian women from a wide range of countries, including both minority communities in Europe and large emigrant populations in North and South America, Australia and New Zealand.
This year’s participants come from diverse locations such as Argentina, Bolivia, Romania, Germany and Norway.
The event is held under the patronage of Dr Dragan Čović, President of the Croatian National Assembly, the Central State Office for Croats Abroad, the Government of Canton 10, the City of Biograd na Moru and the Municipality of Tomislavgrad.
