ZAGREB, March 25 (Hina) – The head of Split-Dalmatia County, Blazenko Boban, announced on Wednesday that on Thursday the AD Plastik company from Solin would start the production of around 50,000 transparent masks – visors designed by Slaven Damjanovic, a student from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Naval Architecture (FESB) in Split.

Production of 50,000 transparent masks starts tomorrow

“We are in contact with the director of AD Plastik, Marinko Dosen, and his teams. Production starts tomorrow, and they are prepared to produce 50,000 visors in eight to ten days,” said Boban at a press conference.

According to him, the visors are a product of “domestic intelligence and domestic production for the whole of Croatia”, and Croatia needs almost 500,000 such visors.

The Dean of the University of Split, Dragan Ljutic, explained that visors were transparent protective masks, designed a few days ago by FESB student Slaven Damjanovic, primarily for the protection of health workers, but also the police, the army, and all others who are the first line of defense from the coronavirus.

Shipyard donates protective suits and masks

The Viktor Lenac shipyard has donated 150 protective suits and 40 masks to sanitary inspectors at Rupa and Pasjak border crossings as well as to ambulance staff of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, the county civil protection authority said on Wednesday.

The authority thanked the director of the shipyard in Kostrena, Sandra Uzelac, on their own behalf as well as on behalf of the people who would use the suits.

According to the latest data from the national civil protection authority, 34 people have been infected with the new coronavirus in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.

One person is on ventilator in a Rijeka hospital.
