‘Travel Is Knowledge’ Festival In Zagreb

For the 4th year in a row the travel festival “Putovanje je Znanje” (Travel is Knowledge)  will be held at cinema Europa in the Croatian capital Zagreb on 12 June.

Organised by the non-profit organisation ‘Oko svijeta’ (Around the World), the festival will promote the culture of individual travel as one of the best ways to acquire new knowledge. Oko svijeta says that it wants to show people that the usual fear and apprehension associated with going away on travels is unnecessary. “We are witnessing that whilst young people are travelling they are rapidly acquiring new skills, becoming more tolerant, more accountable and better prepared for life’s challenges. In developed countries, especially EU countries, it is customary and encouraged that during or after studies to travel away for one year,” said the festival organisers.
Around 2,000 visitors are expected at the all day festival which will feature a host of happenings and activities. Exhibitors at the festival will provide all the necessary information needed to prepare people for quality individual travel. The festival, which has grown from strength to strength each year, represents a platform that is recognised as a central gathering place for world travelers and has become a unique event in the region. Last year 1,200 passionate travelers visited the festival.
