Sibenik-Knin County Breaks 25 Year Old Tourist Record

The tourist board of the Sibenik-Knin County on Croatia’s Adriatic will not forget 2012 in a hurry after a record-breaking year.

“Sibenik-Knin County this season achieved 5,146,000 overnight stays. Breaking a record from 1987 when there was 3.3 million overnight stays,” announced its president Goran Pauk.

Two destinations in the County were singled out as the tourist board reflected on a successful season. Sibenik and Vodice both passed the magical million mark. Sibenik with 1,127,000 and Vodice with 1,640,000 overnight stays. Germans were the most present in the Country this summer, followed by Czechs, Poles, Slovaks and Austrians.
