Croatia coach Ante Čačić says that his side will be concentrating on what they have to do on the pitch tonight in Malta and not what is happening in Rome…

Croatia take on Malta tonight in their last Euro 2016 Group H qualifier needing a win and either an Italian win or draw in their match with Norway to qualify automatically for Euro 2016 in France.

“On the pitch we won’t be burdened by the result in Rome, we will be focused on our task. We have to do our job and I am confident that we will strive for 90 minutes, without nervousness and thinking that we need to sew the game up right at the start ,” Čačić said ahead of tonight’s clash.

Croatia will be without the injured Mario Mandžukić and Luka Modrić tonight, with Milan Badelj set to start in the Real Madrid star’s place.

“We will try to mirror our performance against Bulgaria, that match showed how good the atmosphere is around the side,” said Čačić.

“We know that Malta will be very motivated and we have to prepare well and give it our all. We are here to play for our country, it is an honour to wear the shirt. It is an honour to be together to defend the colours of Croatia,” said Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitić.
