Former Chelsea Player On His Way To Hajduk Split

Hajduk Split have given former Chelsea player Nikki Ahamed a one week trial to impress. Ahamed, who was born in Sri Lanka, joined Chelsea’s youth academy before being promoted to the club’s reserve side. The 22-year-old defender was named in Chelsea’s 2009-2010 Champions League squad but never impressed enough to press for a first team place.
Ahamed, who is eligible to play for both Sri Lanka and England, comes to Hajduk Split from Portuguese second division club CD Mafra.
