Zimski Nokturno: Romantic winter magic at Zagreb’s Grič Park

One of Advent Zagreb’s most romantic installations, Zimski Nokturno, has transformed Grič Park in the Upper Town this Advent into a dreamy winter retreat inspired by starlight and the nocturnes of Frédéric Chopin.

Visitors still have time to experience this enchanting setting, as Zimski Nokturno remains open until 7 January 2026.

The installation offers a serene and atmospheric escape from the bustle of the city, inviting guests to slow down and savour a special winter moment.

Set beneath a canopy of softly glowing, star-like lights, the park becomes a place for quiet walks, shared benches and reflection.

The experience is accompanied by the timeless music of Chopin’s nocturnes, performed by acclaimed pianist Jan Lisiecki, creating a soundtrack that enhances the sense of intimacy and calm.

Designed as a celebration of winter romance, Zimski Nokturno encourages visitors to wander beneath the “starry sky”, listen to classical music and enjoy what organisers describe as “the most beautiful winter night”.

Zimski Nokturno is part of the official Advent Zagreb programme, organised by the Zagreb Tourist Board in cooperation with the City of Zagreb.

This year’s Advent celebrations run until 7 January 2026.
