Zadar will be even closer to visitors from Bavaria this winter, thanks to a renewed air link with Munich, a major European hub and home to many Croatians living and working in southern Germany.
The timing could not be better. Fresh from winning the award for Best City Break Destination at the Days of Croatian Tourism, Zadar is looking to build on its post-season appeal.
Croatia Airlines will operate flights between Munich and Zadar from 28 November this year until 6 January 2026.
After a trial run last year, the route now forms part of a broader promotional effort by the Zadar City Tourist Board and Zadar County Tourist Board across Munich and Bavaria, where ties with German travel media and agents have already been strengthened.
Iva Bencun, Director of the Zadar City Tourist Board, says the winter service directly supports the city’s strategic push towards year-round tourism.
“Targeted air routes that allow visitors to come for a long weekend, or three to four days, are extremely welcome. This winter connection with Munich fits that concept perfectly,” she explains.
According to Bencun, the route is significant both symbolically and practically.
“It contributes to the development of year-round tourism and allows visitors from Bavaria – especially Croatians living and working in Germany, to experience Zadar in its unique post-season and Advent atmosphere. At the same time, this connection adds important value for Zadar’s economy and residents by linking the city with a major European aviation hub.”

This new chapter also comes on the back of notable recognition at the Days of Croatian Tourism, where Zadar was honoured as the country’s best city break destination, and the Hyatt Regency Zadar received the award for Croatia’s best luxury hotel.
“The award acknowledges the collective effort of everyone in the tourism sector, from private accommodation owners and restaurateurs to travel agencies and event organisers,” Bencun adds. “Good air connections are a key part of this, and we hope to see them extend throughout the entire year, enabling more short breaks for our guests.”
Croatia Airlines will operate the Zadar–Munich route twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
