The world’s first discovery yacht, built by Croatian shipyard Uljanik in Pula, has been launched into the sea from slipway on Wednesday at Uljanik Shipyard.

Scenic Eclipse, built for PEC Limited, a company of the Australian Scenic group, was launched into the sea from the shipyard’s No.1 slipway today.

The luxury cruise ship is designed to sail anywhere in the world with the latest innovations in naval design and technology for exploration in extreme environments, such as the Arctic and Antarctic coasts and the seabed.

“Designed to deliver the ultimate experience of a lifetime for only 228 guests, only 200 in the Arctic and Antarctica, Scenic Eclipse takes ocean cruising to a whole new level – marrying luxury, discovery, and safety, and giving guests the opportunity to explore above and beyond what was previously imaginable,” Scenic says.

The vessel, which is being built under the supervision of the Bureau Veritas Croatia Classification Society, has state-of-the-art safety features allowing the cruiser to unlock a number of new destinations.
