8 August 2019 – Late last year, Italian car design company Pininfarina announced an extensive collaboration with Croatian firm Rimac Automobili as a lead technical partner on their first electric hypercar.

The €80m EV technology supply contract with Rimac sees the Croatian company provide battery and drivetrain expertise, as well as software and hardware.

Today, Pininfarina gave the public the first look at their new Battista EV they produced in collaboration with Rimac.

The 1900bhp Pininfarina Battista EV is based on the Rimac C2 and can hit a sub-2sec 0-62mph time, 0-186mph in less than 12sec and a top speed of around 217mph

The video was shot in Turin with the car to be officially presented at Monterey Car Week in California which starts this week.

The video and photos was shared by Rimac boss Mate Rimac on his social media.

“We are very excited about this challenge.  Combining Rimac values – technology, innovation and performance with the heritage, history and Italian design of Automobili Pininfarina makes a perfect synergy for an exciting new hypercar.  This partnership is a big milestone for both companies and we are looking forward to bringing this incredible machine to life together,” Rimac said when the collaboration was announced.

Pininfarina is expected to make 150 of the new Battistas with prices to begin at around €2m.
