Croatia football coach Zlatko Dalic was a guest on “The Croatian Broadcast with Lidia” for “The Croatian Project” recently where he talked about the Croatian diaspora, their support, the postponed Euros and more.

Speaking from his home in Croatia via Zoom to Australian-Croatian TV presenter and social media Influencer Lidia from i Lidia LoVe , Dalic said that those living in Croatia need to support Croatians in the diaspora and those in the diaspora need to keep promoting Croatia.

“There are not a lot of us, we need to be together. What is the worst is division and we can not allow that and we must fight for our Croatia. This is our homeland, our people and to be one is how we will succeed,” Dalic said, adding that he is keen to visit the Croatian communities in Australia and the United States as soon as he gets the opportunity.

“I was in Canada a year ago. Australia and America are left in my plans. The first opportunity when things get back to normal I would love to come and visit Croatians in Australia,” Dalic tells Lidia, adding.

“A lot of Croatians in Australia came to Croatia to start their careers, starting with Mark Viduka, Skoko, Horvat, Bosnjak…a lot were here and left a mark on football in Croatia.”

The World Cup silver medalist also touched on the current global pandemic and the postponed Euros which were due to take place next month.

“Everything has changed in our lives. Croatia and the whole world has stopped the last month and there was a lot of free time to spend at home with family. I hope things return to normal soon. I hope Euros will be played in 2021 and Croatia will again play an important role and I am optimistic.”

Dalic said that he is a big supporter of The Croatian Project, a newly launched website that streams Croatian films and thinks it is great that a platform for Croatians from all over the world to be able to watch films has been created.

One film recently uploaded to the site is “Hrvatske Sportske Legende” which the Croatia coach highly recommends.

“The film is excellent, I propose everyone who can watch it. In one spot you can watch all Croatian sporting legends that have helped and promoted our Croatia. An excellent film, absolutely worth watching,” Dalic says.

Another film available on The Croatian Project is VATRENI and to mark 30 years since the most famous Dinamo Zagreb – Red Star derby that was never played, which features in the film, they are offering a weekend special, 20% off all films from Friday 15 May to Sunday 17 May. Visit the site here.
