VIDEO: Top Croatian promo film wins prestigious international award

A short film promoting Kvarner, a bay located between the Istrian peninsula and the northern Croatian Littoral mainland, has won a prestigious international award

The promotional film “Make Your Own Movie” by the Kvarner Tourist Board has won a prestigious award at The Golden City Gate film festival in Berlin, amidst stiff competition from films worldwide, the Kvarner Tourist Board has announced.

The film, which was exceptionally received for its creativity when it was first released, showcases the beauty of numerous tourist destinations in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, including Opatija, Crikvenica, Novi Vinodolski, Gorski Kotar, Mali Lošinj, Krk, Rab, and Cres.  

Through captivating shots that depict the uniqueness of each location, the film takes viewers on an exciting journey through the most beautiful parts of Kvarner and Gorski Kotar. 

Produced by Filmerija and Kinoteka, the film was directed and edited by Sanjin Stanić, who, along with Ljubo Zdjelarević, is also the producer and, in collaboration with Edi Mužina, co-writer of the screenplay. The director of photography is Hrvoje Franjić. The film features actors Ivan Raffaelli, Zijad Gračić, Serena Ferraiuolo, Damir Orlić, and Marina Musulin.

Irena Peršić Živadinov, the director of the Kvarner Tourist Board, expressed immense pride in receiving this global recognition.

“I’m extremely proud, we were very happy by this news and this world recognition to our movie! When we started the movie making project, we wanted to show our beautiful Kvarner from another angle, through an innovative way and create quality promotional tools and content, the real value of which as we see has been recognized and rewarded by the film profession itself”, proudly points out Peršić Zivadinov.
