ZAGREB, March 24 (Hina) – The people of Zagreb started applauding at 8 p.m. on Monday to thank everyone who helped them after the 5.5 quake rocked the city on Sunday.
The applause was for the doctors, soldiers, police, firefighters and other relevant services as well as fellow residents and everyone systematically fighting the COVID-19 epidemic.
By doing so they responded to a call that appeared on Facebook earlier in the day to go to their windows and applaud everyone who helped after the earthquake, which was especially devastating in the city centre, and everyone on the front line of the fight against coronavirus.
“Croatia, let’s say thank you. Today at 20.00 hours, go to your windows and give a round of applause for everyone who has helped, everyone who is taking care of our lives, everyone who we will need one day,” said the call on Facebook.
