2,325 people with the first name Ivan have gathered in the town of Kupres in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sunday where they have broken the Guinness Book of Records record for the largest gathering of people with the same name.
‘1000Ivana’ (1,000 Ivans), organised by the Kupres in Zagreb club, took place today in Kupres, with the aim to beat the Guinness Book of Records record for the largest gathering of people with the same name in one place.
The largest gathering of people with the same first name until today was 1,096 Mohammeds as part of the Dubai Shopping Festival at Creek Park in Dubai on 10 February 2005.
The day started with a Mass in the morning, before the gathering of all the Ivans and a procession in the afternoon. A large number of Ivans from Croatia made the short trip over the border.
There was food and drink throughout the day and in the evening concerts from Marko Perković Thompson, Mate Bulić and others.
Visitors also had the chance to learn more about the stunning natural beauty and rich culture and tradition of this Bosnian-Herzegovinian region.
