VIDEO: Croatian Football Derby Honours Go to Hajduk Split

croatiaIt is a rivalry that can be traced back more than 90 years and it was renewed again last night in the Dalmatian city of Split when the “eternal derby” between two of Croatia’s biggest football clubs Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split was played.

Bragging rights, at least until the return match later this season, go to Split’s Torcida fans after their side claimed a deserved 2-0 victory at their Poljud Stadium. Goals in the 49th and 69th minute from Hajduk’s Mario Pašalić was enough to send Hajduk Split to second on the league table, just 1 point behind leaders Dinamo Zagreb.
