CroatiaTransparency International has released its 2013 Corruption Perceptions Index, with Croatia expectedly ranked well down the list…

Croatia is not at the bottom of Transparency International’s latest index, that honour has gone to Somalia, North Korea and Afghanistan as the three nations with the world’s highest degree of corruption as perceived by analysts and business leaders. Croatia has improved five positions from the last report, coming in at 57th on the list of 177 countries.

Croatia’s neighbours did not fear too much better, with Slovenia in 43rd place, Macedonia and Montenegro tied in 67th spot and Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina equal in 72nd. Denmark and New Zealand were number 1 on the list, behind Finland and Sweden.
