ZAGREB, 7 March 2020 – The Croatian Ministry of Tourism has announced details of its Tjedan odmora vrijedan (A week of rest is worthwhile) project offering all citizens discounts at tourist destinations around the country.

From 10 – 19 April, Croatian citizens will have the opportunity to enjoy discounted prices in a number of different tourism sectors all over the countries.

The project, organised by the Ministry of Tourism and the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) in cooperation with the Croatian Chamber of Economy and partners, is designed to encourage domestic tourist traffic outside the summer season and is being implemented for the first time this Easter.

The Ministry of Tourism said that more than 80 companies, including hoteliers, restaurants, the popular Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia Airlines and a number of other tourism businesses have so far supported the project by offering discounts.

Tourism businesses have until 1 April to sign up to the project with discount offers. The Ministry of Tourism pointed out that they have already held a series of meetings with key stakeholders in the tourism sector, from accommodation providers, catering, transportation to national parks, nature parks and other cultural tourist locations.

“Everyone was interested in participating in this project, which aims to allow all citizens of Croatia the opportunity to get to know and visit different parts of the country at cheaper prices for tourism products, from accommodation and transportation to catering, cultural and other facilities for different experiences,” the Ministry told Hina.

A special website has been set up where businesses can register and where more details are published.
