You can easily reach these cities thanks to multiple flights to Croatia from around the world.

1. Split: Gateway to the Dalmatian Island

Begin your island-hopping adventure in Split, a vibrant city with a history dating back to Roman times. From there, hop on a boat tour to the nearby Dalmatian Islands of Brač and Hvar.

Island hopping from Split to Brač and Hvar

Start your island-hopping itinerary from Brač. Ferries from Split to Brač (Milna port) reach the island in less than 30 minutes. Then, catch a ferry and land in the neighboring Hvar in 30-40 minutes. Both ferry routes are available up to 3 times a day and tickets are at €10-€15.

We recommend spending 2 days on each island to explore all their hidden corners.

Brač: relax at the famous Zlatni Rat beach, known for its unique shape that changes with the tides. Indulge in local cuisine at the charming town of Bol and visit the historic Blaca Hermitage tucked away in the island’s interior.

Hvar: discover the enchanting town of Hvar, with its quaint harbor and medieval architecture. Visit the impressive Hvar Fortress (Fortica) for panoramic views and soak in the lively atmosphere of the town’s squares.

2. Dubrovnik: Southern Charms and Island Gems

Dubrovnik, the beloved “Pearl of the Adriatic”, stands as the perfect starting point to the southern islands, including the enchanting Korčula, the verdant Mljet and the dreamy Elaphiti archipelago.

Island hopping from Dubrovnik: Korčula – Mljet – Šipan

Your adventure begins from the island of Korčula; the Dubrovnik – Korčula ferry route is operated multiple times daily, with a duration of around 2 hours. Then catch one of the 3 daily ferries to Mljet (Pomena port) that arrive in just 30-40 minutes. Last but not least, ride the daily ferry from Mljet (Sobra port) and reach Šipan (Šipanska Luka port) in 30 minutes.

We recommend spending 2 days in Korčula and Mljet and 1 day in Šipan.

Korčula: an island boasting Venetian-inspired architecture and a rich historical legacy. Stroll through charming old towns, savor local wines, and delve into the island’s cultural sights.

Mljet: this Croatian island stands out for its pristine nature. Explore the island’s lush landscapes, discover the allure of the Mljet National Park, and rejuvenate amidst the tranquility of its crystal-clear lakes.

Šipan: the largest of the Elaphiti Islands, Šipan offers a peaceful retreat. Wander through olive groves, visit medieval churches, and taste fresh seafood.

3. Pula: Island Tour from the Istrian Peninsula

Head north to Pula, a city known for its Roman architecture and many historic sights, and embark on a journey to fascinating islands close to the Istrian Peninsula where you can discover diverse landscapes and cultural richness.

Island hopping from Pula: Unije – Lošinj – Susak – Ilovik

Your trip to the islands from the Istrian Peninsula starts in the small Unije. You can catch a ferry from Pula to Unije several times a week, with tickets at around €8. From there, travel to Lošinj in 1 hour with ferry tickets at less than €5. Then embark on a ferry ride to Silba with tickets at around €6, and complete your adventure in Ilovik with ferry tickets at less than €4. All ferry routes last from 20 minutes to 1 hour.

We recommend spending 1-2 days on each island. However, as Lošinj is the bigger island (also connected with Cres), you could stay there 2-3 days instead to make the most of your tour.

Unije: a small island where tranquility reigns supreme. Immerse yourself in the island’s unspoiled nature, hike through scenic landscapes, and discover secluded coves for an authentic escape from the hustle and bustle.

Lošinj: dive into the island’s Mediterranean beauty, visit picturesque villages, and soak in the therapeutic scents of the renowned Lošinj Aromatic Garden. Explore the underwater world with rich marine life, perfect for snorkeling enthusiasts.

Susak: with its sandy shores and unique traditions, Susak beckons with a special charm. Wander around the island’s wildflower fields, experience the folk culture, and enjoy the local hospitality in its 2 settlements.

Ilovik: the “Flower Island” is perfect for romantics and serenity seekers. Stroll through lovely landscaped gardens, admire the diverse flora, and indulge in the peaceful atmosphere of its secluded coves.
