Thousands Celebrate Split’s Biggest Day of the Year

Saint Domnius (Sveti Duje) feast day is the city’s biggest day, and it kicked off with a traditional procession from the Saint Domnius Cathedral this morning, followed by a host of activities and concerts into the evening on the Riva. This year the sun was shining as thousands of locals, and tourists packed the waterfront to take part in this year’s feast day. Some confused Japanese and Korean tourists were not quiet sure what had struck them when they tried to go out to sight-see around the city today, but were quickly informed by the locals as to the importance of the day.
