‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard’ sequel being shot in Croatia

Ryan Reynolds, Salma Hayek & Samuel L. Jackson to star in sequel shot in Croatia


5 March 2019 – Actors Samuel L. Jackson (70), Salma Hayek (52) and Ryan Reynolds (42), are set to shoot a new Hollywood film in Croatia. 

According to Glas Istre, the trio, who starred together in the film ‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard’, will soon be arriving in Rovinj to shoot the sequel.

Rovinj Mayor Marko Paliaga confirmed that the town has already issued the required permits for the shooting of the Hollywood film.

“I can confirm that the town has done all that is required and has offered help in the filming of the movie. According to the permits issues, filming should start art the start of April and last for one month,” Paliaga told Glas Istre.

A special film camp will be set up during the duration of the filming. It is not known yet where the stars will be staying but Rovinj is home to a number of top-quality hotels, such as Lone and the new Grand Park Hotel.  

The Hitman’s Bodyguard grossed $75.5 million for Lionsgate in the U.S. and more than $180 million worldwide when it was released in 2017. 

“Samuel L. Jackson, Salma Hayek and Ryan Reynolds will reprise their roles as, the hitman, his wife and the bodyguard, respectively, in the new feature,” Hollywood Reporter said.

The sequel is reportedly called “The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard.”
