Advent in Varaždin
ZAGREB, 2 Jan (Hina) – Advent in Varaždin has been named the most beautiful Christmas market in Croatia for the third year in a row.
This was according to a vote by the public and an expert jury organised by the Gradonačelnik.hr portal, beating competition from 64 Advent destinations nationwide, the portal said on Tuesday.

This year’s vote included 46 towns and 18 municipalities, with Varaždin winning convincingly in the large towns category after securing 8,298 votes.

Voting lasted a week and attracted a total of 51,285 votes.

“The third consecutive title confirms that Advent in Varaždin, set in the ambience of the historic city centre and featuring a rich cultural and entertainment programme, diverse content and a distinctive festive atmosphere, continues to attract large numbers of visitors and earn positive assessments from both experts and the public,” the city’s tourist board said.
