Temperatures set to hit 40°C in parts of Croatia

ZAGREB, 10 August 2019 – A heatwave is set to bring some extreme heat to parts of Croatia over the next couple of days. 

Croatia will be extremely hot in parts as the peak of the heatwave is expected to arrive on Monday with the highest temperatures, around 40°C, forecast for inland Dalmatia. It will be extremely hot also in Knin, Rijeka, Split and Dubrovnik, 24sata writes. 

Sunny, calm, hot and humid weather is forecast for all of the country until Tuesday. The peak of the heatwave may cause problems on Monday when temperatures climb towards 40°C, HRT writes.

Croatia on Saturday 

Saturday brings sunny and hot weather for the country. There will be a slight breeze bringing some relief on the coast with highs between 32-37°C forecast, the State Met Office says.

Croatia on Sunday 

Much of the same is expected on Sunday with hot, sunny and calm weather forecast. Highs again are expected to be between 32-37°C. Sunshine and hot weather dominates Slavonia and the east of the country over the weekend also. 

Croatia on Monday

The peak of the heatwave is set to arrive on Monday with the most brutal temperatures expected in inland Dalmatia with highs of 40°C. Knin, Rijeka, Split and Dubrovnik will see temperatures pushing 40°C.

There will be relief from Tuesday as temperatures return to average for August and will be fresher.
