Split Records Warmest Night Since Records Begun

Croatia200The Dalmatian city of Split last night recorded the warmest start to December since records were kept, says Crometeo…

Overnight Split recorded temperatures of 18.6 degrees celsius, the warmest temperature ever recorded in December. This morning’s temperature beat the record which stood from 5 December 1979 when it measured 18.1 degrees celsius.

It was not just Split on the Dalmatian coast that recorded unseasonably high temperatures. Dubrovnik, Karlobag and Makarska all recording temperatures of 20 degrees celsius. Whilst the coast basked in warm temperatures for this time of the year, it was a stark contrast to the north of the country where there was rain, fog and a cold air front. Temperatures across Europe varied greatly last night, with the south of Italy measuring in the 20’s, and Russia freezing at minus 20 degrees celsius.
