The Croatian national football team have assembled in Zagreb ahead of two important World Cup qualifiers against Macedonia and Wales in the next six days. For Croatia’s newest member of the squad, yesterday was a special day.
“Going into the team hotel and collecting my kit with the Croatian coat of arms on it is something that I will remember for the rest of my life,” that is what Brazilian born Croatian passport holder Sammir told his manager Bozo Sliskovic after his first day as a Croatian representative, wrote Jutarnji list.
Sammir, who is rooming with his Dinamo Zagreb team-mate Domagoj Vida, is expected to make his debut at some stage against Macedonia this Friday in Skopje. Croatia then take on Wales on Tuesday in Osijek.
