Promoting Croatian Wines on the US Market

Croatian wines presented in New York

Wines from 22 Croatian winemakers have been promoted to around 300 potential distributors and wine experts in New York.

The event – Vina Croatia – Vina Mosaica – which presented Croatian wines to the US market, was held recently in New York and was organised by the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK).

“Croatian wines meet world quality standards. Export to the United States has been on the rise in recent years, however, for greater headway to be made it is necessary to brand our country more strongly. Croatia has to be recognised not only as a tourist destination but also as a wine destination and the HGK is here to facilitate such efforts,” said HGK chairman Luka Burilovic.

The owner of the chain of Delmonico’s restaurants, Dennis Turcinovic, was quoted in the HGK press release as saying that the marketing of Croatian wines should be stepped up.

Delmonico’s in New York’s financial centre serves several Croatian wines. Turcinovic says that stronger marketing is required to make Americans more interested in drinking Croatian wines.
