PHOTOS: Largest sports and entertainment park in Croatia for kids opens in Vinkovci

ZAGREB, 17 Sept (Hina) – The Green Digital Park Papuk, a sports and recreation centre with digital educational content, billed as the largest sports and entertainment park for children in Croatia, opened on Monday in Vinkovci.
“Vinkovci today has 16 outdoor sports fields, eight halls and four football stadiums, and the only artificial turf pitch in the county,” said Mayor Josip Romić.
He announced plans for the construction of two new halls and two new schools, adding that another multi-purpose playground was nearing completion.

“We are building outdoor pools, renovating indoor ones. All these projects aim to provide children with the conditions for healthy development, and ultimately all city sports clubs and the entire community will benefit,” Romić said.

He noted that the park was built on the site of the former city landfill, which was remediated in 2016.

The project, worth €2.3 million, was financed through the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds’ Integrated Territorial Programme 2021-2027, along with the Vinkovci city budget.
