One of Korčula’s most historic and recognisable hotels is entering a new chapter after more than a century of hospitality.
Located in the very heart of Korčula’s Old Town, just steps from the sea, the landmark property will reopen as the Aminess Younique Korčula Heritage Hotel, an exclusive five-star heritage hotel following a complete renovation and redesign.
The project is being led by Aminess Hotels & Resorts, which has announced an investment worth €3.4 million. Once completed, the hotel will become the company’s fifth five-star property, further strengthening its premium portfolio.

The hotel is scheduled to open its doors at the beginning of the next tourist season, with its iconic terrace once again set to become a focal point of social life in the town.
The building itself dates back to the 18th century and has operated as a hotel since 1912.
Over the decades, it has attracted members of the international elite and cultural icons, including Jackie Kennedy, Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton and Orson Welles, who were drawn by its discreet elegance and exceptional location.

Rather than a simple refurbishment, the project represents a careful revival of history. Designed by the architectural studio Atellior, the new concept preserves and reinterprets key historic elements of the building, which has long been at the heart of Korčula’s social and cultural life.

These heritage features will be combined with the highest standards of contemporary comfort, design and personalised service.
“Aminess Younique Korčula Heritage Hotel is a place with a soul, where some of the most beautiful stories of Croatian tourism were written,” said Malvina Krističević, Director of the hotel.
“By elevating it to a five-star level, we want to offer guests an experience of authentic luxury, where history can be felt in every corner, supported by outstanding, personalised service for the modern traveller.”
Following the renovation, the boutique hotel will feature 11 carefully designed premium rooms, each tailored to provide an intimate and individual guest experience. Guests will also be able to enjoy a refined lobby bar, while culinary enthusiasts will be drawn to the 7 Seas restaurant, led by renowned chef Matija Bogdan.

Bogdan brings extensive international experience, having worked at London’s two-Michelin-starred The Ledbury, where he was the right-hand man to celebrated chef Brett Graham.
His concept for 7 Seas focuses on high-end gastronomy using the finest locally sourced ingredients, complemented by a serious wine list and impeccable service.

With this transformation, Aminess Younique Korčula Heritage Hotel continues its 110-year tradition of hospitality, now positioning itself as one of the most prestigious small luxury hotels on the Adriatic.
The investment reflects Aminess’ broader strategic direction, which focuses on raising quality standards across its portfolio, particularly in the four- and five-star segment.
