24 April 2024 – Last night, the Lisinski Concert Hall in the Croatian capital Zagreb hosted a spectacular concert by the legendary Glenn Miller Orchestra, attracting many swing music enthusiasts from the entire region.

The concert took place in a packed hall of the local concert venue, where the audience eagerly anticipated the beginning of an evening dedicated to classic jazz and swing rhythms of the 1930s and 1940s.

The concert commenced with the renowned ballad “Moonlight Serenade,” the traditional opening song of every Glenn Miller Orchestra concert, immediately setting the atmosphere on fire and reminding the attendees of the golden age of swing music.

The orchestra played a series of well-known hits such as “Pennsylvania 6-5000,” “For Away Places,” “Hot Toddy,” taking the audience on a journey through time to the era of great jazz bands.

“We strive to play the music that defined that era in the same way as Glenn Miller. It’s not about copying. However, it would be very strange, both for the audience and the band, to play a modern, for example, disco version of ‘In The Mood.’ Neither the audience nor the band would enjoy such a performance,” said Will Salden.

The audience reacted with ovations to each performance, and the atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and joy throughout the event. The concert concluded with long, thunderous applause, clearly demonstrating how much the attendees enjoyed the music and the performance by the Glenn Miller Orchestra.

The Glenn Miller Orchestra will return to Croatia as early as October, performing in Rijeka, Osijek, and Split.
